Have there ever been any musicals?

For the discussion, promotion and review of any and all theatre in St Andrews - student, amateur or professional. Mermaids (the University's theatre funding body) would like to hear any suggestions or criticism you may have about how to improve drama and the performing arts in student life.

Have there ever been any musicals?

Hi there! I love being in musicals but have not seen or heard of any that have been in St Andrews.

Bring it on I say - Oliver, My Fair Lady, the Music Man - all classics I tell you!

Classics.

There are generally two or three per year.

Off the top of my head:
Cabaret
Me & My Girl
Return to the Forbidden Planet
Guys & Dolls
Iolanthe [same difference]
The Mikado [ditto]
Frank and Rosie
The Rise and Fall of Little Voice [practically]
Patience

So, yes.

This year includes "Follies" by Stephen Sondheim and "The Gondoliers" by G&S.

Contact justso@st-and.ac.uk for musicals
Or grssoc@st-and.ac.uk for G&S
Or mermaids@st-and.ac.uk for plays with music.

Cheers for taking the time to reply. I guess I must have missed them then!
