Is there a postgrad soc mailing list or something to let us know of interesting events?

Yes there is. We have a majordomo email list called pgsoclist. At the moment the easiest thing to do is to subscribe yourself by following the instructions below. Also if you use facebook join the postgrad group and befriend Leonard College as both these will also keep you up to date with upcoming events.

Send a message to majordomo, NOT to the list as follows
# To: majordomo

Subject:
Body of the message: subscribe pgsoclist

Include nothing else. If you include your e-mail signature you will receive lots of error messages.
When you subscribe Majordomo will add your e-mail address (that is the e-mail address that you were using when you sent the message) to the list. So if you subscribe from a Hotmail account, it is the Hotmail address that will be put on the list.

Also - we have an event tomorrow (Tuesday 10th at 1900). It is our EGM so we will be running elections for some committee positions but it is also a great chance to share your ideas and meet some more postgrads. We are meeting in the committees room which is on top floor of union.
