We are a post grad couple (international students) with a toddler. We are looking for a 2 bedroom place, rent range between 400-600pcm. Preferably St Andrews but will consider Anstruther and other East Nuek locations. Arriving St Andrews on 21 Dec 2010. Please message me back if you can help.

I am sorry to tell you that there is absolutely no way at all that you will be able to find a 2-bedroom flat IN St Andrews for that. In fact, you are unlikely to find somewhere for less than 640, and that is being hopeful.

I saw a place outside of town advertised, and will look for the number to send you, if that is a help. Living in the actual town itself is just an enormous rip-off now and not worth it at all...

That's odd, since I know one of my old flats (3-bedroom) had rent of £720/month this year. It's true you won't find anywhere in the centre of St A for that price, but on the outskirts it should be doable.

At such short notice, mid-year? I doubt it. They'd be better off looking somewhere outside of the town, where you can get great cottages for much, much less.

Thank you both for your replies. Yes you are absloutely right, we haven't been able to find a place within that price range in St Andrews. We have found two places in St Andrews for 650 and over.
