Hello. Was thinking of joining and learning to play. Is the Poker Society still active?

Yes it is, we just don't seem to use this board anymore, check out http://www.usaps.co.uk

The AGM was yesterday (Wed 16th), and there is an event on Saturday (i think) and on Monday. I recommend if you havent played before to come along on monday, venue 2 around 6:15 and tell them you'd like to learn how to play, i'm sure someone will show you how.

If they don't I will, but you don't want to learn from me because i'm terrible..
