Gutshot this weekend

Postby flanks on Fri Aug 13, 2004 6:59 am

I am going to be in london this weekend. Unfortunately i cant play the £10 rebuy tonight as im at a dinner party with family.

However I am intending to play the £100 tomorrow evening (starts at 8 o clock). You get maximum 1 rebuy + 1 addon in this tournament, so it is great value and you dont get idiot betting/raising gambling. Normally fairly small tournament, the prize pool is guaranteed at £2,000 but normally there are at least 2 tables so it gets closer to £3,000-£3,500.

Im also going to play the £10 rebuy on sunday afternoon. This is a great little tourney, good fun crown and a nice way to spend 4 hours or so on a Sunday afternoon :)

Anyone who fancies joining me for either of these let me know :) Ill be more than happy to show you how to get there, all you will need is your passport so you can join when you get there (it is a members club not a casino, so it doesnt take 24hrs for you to join). My mobile is 0786311930, so if you are interested in coming along either leave a message here or call/text me :)

Hi Jon,

Can't really make it this weekend, but I do definitely want to do one weekend.

One of the Soc members does go regularly, his name is Sid, I'll send you a Sinner Private Message with his email address.

On another subject, might you be up for the Poker4Charity event in Newcastle on the 28th?

Also Jon, given that you're a Gutshot regular - how about doing a review of it for my website's Casino/Cardroom Directory?

PS: let me know if you get those 2 PM's I sent through here!

MSN is blocked now at work unfortunately :S

You could try texting Dave to get Sid's number, but I know he's abroad so I'm not sure if his phone will be on or not (Dave that is).

That link wouldn't work I'm afraid as they have blocked all web-based IM too - in fact I got a telling off about using webmessenger.msn.com the other day lol

£2000-£3000 prize pool....easy money!...jokes....

Postby womble chris on Fri Aug 13, 2004 10:23 am

does sound tempting (the £10....ill save my £100 tourney victories for later in the year),
but cant do this weekend, although another time and you can witness the phenom chris harvey in action (attempting to do some fancy chip tricks at the table and dropping them on the floor by mistake)

just had a great play hand! (at last!)
1-2NL, i have 55, call, as do 3 others, flop:
577 (oh yes!...connection fault to anyone with 77 please)

everyone checks me last to act...dead flop i was thinking....

turn
8
someone bets 2, one calls, i call, one folds,

river
10 no flush

someone bets 6, one calls, i reraise to 18 and the other two call

admittedly was risky as someone may of been slowplaying their 7 and caught a boat better but i was willing to risk it to hit a big pot

enjoy chris

Now just imagine if you had raised preflop to 6, still woulda got callers, and the pot would have been significant for someone to try a steal. You could have called slow play, and then milked the river :P

Postby flanks on Fri Aug 13, 2004 10:54 am

Also! For those of you who unfortunately cant make it this weekend, it looks like you will have to wait until Poker Mania, or me getting up to St Andrews for a tournament of some description before you get to get expensive lessons :P not tehse free ones you get on here!
