Nitrokeg - what's the point?

Postby Manson on Thu Mar 18, 2004 11:03 am

Seriously, is there ever any point in drinking the stuff?

I mean there could be a logical reason, but its not there...

Is it easier to drink? No, it takes me forever to get rid of a pint of lager.

Is it cheaper? No, its costs the same if not more as a hand-pulled beer.

Is it quicker? No it takes even longer to pour the stuff than to pull a proper pint.

Is it more convenient for the pub? Not really, because the mechanisms are more complicated. I suppose if the landlords didnt have to spend time every day looking after proper beer then they have more time to install video jukeboxes or whatever...

Does it taste nice? No its unequivocally foul. Even the best lagers (i'm thinking bottled Czech beers or something similar) still can never compare to a proper hand pulled pint.

Is there anyone out there who seriously prefers nitrokeg beer to cask-conditioned beer? And why??
