The Perfect Band

Who would be the members of your favourite band?

Heres what ive come up with:

Drums: John Bohnam or Animal from The Muppet Show

Bass: Undecided

Lead Guitars: Jimmy Page, Johnny Marr and Jimi Hendrix (a bit predictable i know but you try better)

Vocals: Jeff Buckley

Piano: Nick Cave

Hair: Robert Smith

Songwriter: All of the above... except Animal. Actually that might be quite good...

I'm sure I did something similar not long ago... but can't find the list anywhere so...

Vocals: Mike Patton, Burton C. Bell, Meg Lee Chin
Guitars: Trey Spruance, Alex Lifeson, Ler
Bass: Flea, Eli Janney
Drums: Martin Atkins, Bill Reiflin
Keyboards/Electronics: Charlie Clouser, MW Gacy

Bit of Mr. Bungle/Pigface supergroup but would make a good noise.....

Recall discussing this with my brother not too long ago... Hmmm...

Certain names always seem to come up when this kind of discussion comes round. Examples thereof;

Vocals; Usually someone with a distinct singing style. Examples; Maynard James Keenan; Billy Corgan; Axl Rose; Marilyn Manson; Ozzy etc.

Lead: Always a tough choice, but some names always come up - Hendrix, Clapton, Springsteen, May, etc. You know them, you know their solos.

Bass; Flea always comes up (but then, why not?) but occasionally someone completely (or not completely) random, like Paul McCartney, John Paul Jones, Rayna Foss-Rose or John Entwistle...

Drums; Only a handful of drummers ever get recognised. Amongst these, Dave Grohl, Ringo Starr, Keith Moon and John Bonham are favourites.

Misc; Adding in a piano/keyboardist/random instrumentalist is always interesting - Ben Folds for his ability to play practically anything is one that rarely comes up; sometimes someone on decks is picked up, but it depends on your tastes I suppose.

So after that long discussion, my line-up would probably be (though I'm likely to change it at a moment's notice);

Vocals; Meenan, possibly Cobain
Guitarist; May
Bassist; Flea
Drums; Grohl

Maybe 13 hot, busty lesbian catgirls who did cover version of classic songs - with all their concerts ending in a big lesbian orgy. Or maybe that's just perfection.

For vocals, I'd say Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. They both had great voices, and it's a pity we don't get to hear anything more of them nowadays.

I refuse to believe that on the grounds that he must have said something like "What's on telly?" or "Can I have a chip?" or some such other entirely cliched and uncreative 'thing'.

My "Dream" Band

Lead Guitar: Eric "Slow hand" Clapton

Rhythm Guitar/Lead 2: Jimi Hendrix

Bass: Flea

Keys/Electronics: Stevie Wonder

Drums: Dave Grohl

Strangely, nobody from the Pumpkins made it, despite being my favourite band...
