Obligitory "Sweet Dreams" by Marilyn Manson post.

36 Crazyfists cover of Digging The Grave is rather tasty (and this from a Patton/FNM fanboy)

Ditto Killswitches Holy Diver, Aiden's Die, Die My Darling and BFMV Crazy Train.

A terrible one is Arch Enemy's "Symphony Of Destruction" but they're not too great anyway.

Avril Lavigne doing "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" makes me want to hit her in the face.

Def Leppard did an alright cover of Action.

Disturbed; brought Land of Confusion to a whole load of new generations. The video is fucking awesome. Comic book Tony Blair!!

Trivium's cover of Master of Puppets, at the risk of incurring the wrath of our glorious founders (and pretty-much everyone else), I think is better than the original.

(This a very bad example of this cover)

Couldn't agree more. I thought it was the biggest insult to rock since Sum 41!

It's certianly not bad, and the improved production certainly helps.

It's ok but I prefer the original (Yes, I love the Sweet, I'm gay, so sue me)

I quite like Trivium's cover of that. Also in the same vein [s]ie. the free Kerrang CD[/s] Mastadon doing "Orion" makes me happy.

HEY! Biggest insult to rock is "Queen" doing "covers" with other bands. That is another story for another day and is best summed up by this cartoon from Classic Rock

Hahaha excellent :D

Trivs cover wasn't too much of a travesty unlike Rolf Harris' cover of Stairway!

Graveworm (Italian black metal band) do several interesting covers, namely:

Losing My Religion (R.E.M)
It's A Sin (Pet Shop Boys)
Fear Of The Dark (Maiden, duh)

and most recently, Holding Out For A Hero (Bonnie Tyler)!

All surprisingly good!
