It's an improvement if you prefer a cleaner more upbeat sound than the downtuned original. Lacuna Coil ain't my thing but yep Cristina is one hot slice of crumpet

I prefer the new version- the faster tempo suits Megadeth better, makes it less of a ballad (ballads generally suck).

The addition of the Italian bijen primarily benefits the video, since in the actual song the "duet" seems to consist of "Handsome Dave Mustaine and the Dave Mustaine band".

Still, I suspect that the reason most people dispprove is that the second version is sans-Friedman (and, I believe more importantly, sans Elleson). That and things were much better in the olden days, of course...
