Things that make me happy

Welcome to the RockSoc board, it gets worse here every day... talk about RockSoc, rock music, plain rocks or other silly irrelevant drivel. All are welcome: members & non-members, of the past, present & future.

Finding this poem again after years made me smile!

The Puffin
by florence jacques

There once was a puffin just the shape of a muffin,
And he lived on an island in the deep blue sea,
He ate little fishes, which were most delicious,
And he ate them for breakfast and he ate them for tea.

But this poor little puffin, he couldn't play nothin',
'Cause he didn't have no-one to play with at all.
So he sat on his island and he cried for a while, and
He felt very lonesome and he felt very small.

Then along came the fishes and they said, "If you wishes,
You can have us for playmates, instead of for tea."
Now they all play together in all kinds of weather,
And the puffin eats pancakes, like you and like me.

hmmm. Seems that no one's been happy for a couple of weeks.

Here's my list (for the moment, and in no particular order)

-sunshine
-fish and chips
-ginger communists
-beer
-whisky (but not whiskey)
-long baths
-earl grey tea
-radio 4 (kind of comforting- especially the shipping forecast for some reason)
-finding a fiver in an old coat pocket
-Big silly loud rock music, like Living on a Prayer etc.
-hugs
-talking to the stray cat that's adopted us
-cooking

high-energy trance

if there was a dance society i'd almost be tempted to jump ship. the music's better anyway. well maybe not but at least it's happier & jumpier & stuff.

Happiness and Shameless Plugs

Postby KMart Cowgirl on Wed Apr 14, 2004 3:44 pm

well i had hoped that this post would happen after I got my essay done, but it's just not going well...

but i'm happy anyway!
here are but a few reasons...
-Week of Rock Events (this is going to be a cracking time...gig tonight in Venue 1, RockSoc tomorrow night in Venue 2, and Fig's leaving do/Screwed Blued and Tattooed gig in Aikman's on Friday-not a shameless plug at all).
-Flipflops, ok so the weather isn't quite wonderful yet (but it is a lovely day really), but i'm so anxious to wear my flipflops that they just keep gravitating toward my feet, that and i have pretty pink toenails to showoff.
-Looking silly running across the road in flipflops, but it's ok because hannah looked silly running across the road as well and she wasn't wearing flipflops.
-Chocolate Truffles from my Academic Mommy.
-Rev coming to visit this weekend.
-Living in 7 next year with Peter and Emma.
-The truely wonderful spring 2004 edition of the RockSco Newsletter (not another shameless plug by any means)
-Jezz's uber-cool drawings.
-Kev's loaner telly.
-Getting dressed up all pretty next weekend for the RockSoc Ball (Get your tickets soon--Ok i won't deny it this is a shameless plug).
-HobNobs (aka RobNobs).
-My new book that i got in the mail today.

ok must get back to my essay now!

[hr]"I got into an arguement with my rice crispies. I distinctly heard 'snap, crackle, fuck you!' I'm not sure which one of them said it, but I heard it and I said, 'well, you can all just sit right there in the milk as far as I'm concerned, until I find out which one of you said it.' Mass Punishment--the idea is to turn them against eachother." -Emily Krueger...my fave Jersey Girl!

The Sinner's back!

[hr]They say that if you play a Windows Install CD backwards, you hear satanic messages. That's nothing - play it forwards, and it installs Windows...
