I'm not sure if Barry's going to be runing it or not, as he's apparently got an exam the next day (damnable silly time for an exam, if you ask me). But I'm sure someone's got the books somewhere...

Hell, if you can run the thing yourself I'm sure we can get a few players together for you.

I'm sure we can rustle up a Call of Cthulu game somehow.

I will also be playing Maiden (but different maiden from Patrick).

Oh and Cthulu related Metallica :D

D&D Classic

Postby Fedoraccoon on Tue Mar 28, 2006 2:47 pm

Aaron Here,

I am willing (and I think signed up for if phil has followed through on his threat) to run a d20 classic style D&D game. I've got the adventure all lined up. It is set up for level 12 characters of any race or class. Core Rules only please!! Exceptions may be permissable at my discretion. In any event, I am ready to run it, but I don't know where I should be or when in order to do so. Any info to this effect would be greatly appreciated.

Slightly off topic, but have GWShop actually introduced a line of plastic Mordians? Built up a small Mordian Iron Guard Army years ago, but abandoned them after the new version of 40K came out and it seemed I wouldn't be able to boost the army up to the require size with cheap(ish) plastic minis. Was a shame as I really enjoyed converting Ogryns and Ratlings, and "smartening them up a bit" to fit in with the Mordians.

Oh, back on topic, have offered to run a "Vampire the Masquerade" Tabletop Game on the Saturday if there is interest - have told VP Phil since he seemed to be doing a census or something but figure I'd mention it here.

There are no plastic Mordians, the only plastic Imperial guard infantry are Catachans (eugh!) and Cadians.

I think the only thing to do is have everyone turn up with what they got and run things from there.

Y'Know, if last year was more organised I could take a look at their notes, but as it is I'm prettey much making it up as I go along.

I've heard from Vidiian that he's running a 'fun, lighthearted Scifi game' on the Sunday.

But, umm... how much does entry cost, and is anything else being run that isn't D&D, Vampire, Call, or a Wargame? Or it is the case that it's really not known at this stage?

I have read the email, but I have to admit, it didn't really clear the issue up at all for me.

Don't know much they're planning to charge, but regarding other games, Billiam said he was planning to run a historical freeform game. I'm not 100& sure but I think the periof he finally settled on was Roman Britain - don't ask me to be more specific than that as I'm not even sure about that much.

Little Greg is running Deadlands on Saturday (and Cthulhu on Sunday for others who might be interested).

Think the other Cthulhu game is Little Phil's, so it might actually be his long awaited Heartquest-Cthulhu crossover, but I couldn't swear to that.

(If you missed Heartquest, it's approximately, Shoujo Manga the RPG - I posted about it on the Project Anime board a while ago with links to a review, laughing about it

Societies/projectanime/8973

then Phil went out and bought it. >_<)

Can't recall anything else that's being run I'm afraid.

Oooo that does look funny! I'll have to look out for that.

I remember Leo showing me that Bishounen-Clthulu thing before :)

Anyway, thanks for the info, Dee.

The clarity of the e-mail was indeed lacking, as has been pointed out to me. To this end, I shall post a draft of the actual final one here, and if anyone spots holes in it (or any games I've not been told, or have been told but have forgotten) before about noon tomorrow we can improve upon it.

It’s SABRE tomorrow, so I thought it best to make sure that I’ve got the projected events and all the info on time and such in the one place.

First of all, as most of you will know by now, it’s Saturday and Sunday the 8th and 9th of April. We have the top floor of the Union until close both days (which, if I recall, is 1am or something silly), so we’re not liable to run short on time. SABRE Rock will be on the Saturday from 8pm (and should indeed rock hardcore, with Commodore Paddy, Chris and Chippy).

We shall be extracting from you the princely sum of £2 for a single day, or £5 for both days and the SABRE Rock.

For the benefit of… everyone in fact, as I don’t think we have a complete list of what’s going on, I have here the planned stuff which we will be running over the weekend.

Vampire LARP (on the Sunday evening, as part of the ongoing Vanities game)

Warhammer Fantasy (2000 points)

Warhammer 40K (1500 points)

Call of Cthulhu RPG (possibly two, and there is threat of a “long awaited Heartquest-Cthulhu crossover”)

Historical freeform RPG (I am informed it is liable to be Roman Britain)

At least one D&D game (Aaron’s will apparently be set up for level 12s using the core books, if you want to get your preparation in for a clean start)

Magic the Gathering (Ravinica Booster Draft, Vanguard Tournament and Sealed Deck Tournament all with prizes on offer. Based on an expected turnout of ten people (prices may drop if more attend) each event will cost around 10 pounds or 25 for all three or 17
for two)

Vampire the Masquerade (Tabletop this time, on the Saturday)

Transhuman Space (I’m short on details here, anyone have info?)

That, plus the looming threat of Munchkin, plus whatever anyone’s thought up and not told me or anyone else (pray that the threat of D20 “Macho Women With Guns" remains only a threat).

I think that’s everything, so I’ll leave you all alone now.

Which day is WH Fantasy and which is 40k? I just need to know whether to spray my dwarfs or continue inking things.

Second of all: Does anyone have a Dark Eldar Codex handy that I could borrow? I ordered a new one but it hasn't arrived yet(meaning I may have to play using Salamanders).

As far as I know, we're going to do both games on both days, so says Chris at any rate.

And my Dark Eldar book is at home, I'm afraid.

Ah well, Salamanders it is then!

Any idea if it's mutually exclusive to do both?
