That's a bit weird, at first I thought it was because of the kitchens being too small, but Albany Park have smaller kitchens than Fife Park...

If this is the case it is likely because fife park doesn't have a common room. By removing a bedroom and putting in a coomon room they may solve this problem.

I think I was told something about this one (maybe from Marco?) but don't quote me on it- I was probs drunk and heard wrong:

Fife's HMO (or it may be summat to do with standards of uni housing) means that technically only 5 people should live in a Fife house due to size, facilities etc. The uni has been allowing six in because the additional revenue they got was much greater than the fines incurred. Maybe this has changed?

the new law that applied with this Fife Park change was imposed by Fife Council and stated that every house must have at least 5 bedrooms to each shower/bath. I don't know how many showers Albany Park has, or bathrooms, but that is the reasoning behind this whole thing.

What does it matter anyway, Fife Park is getting knocked down soon.
