Jelly Bean Awards

For people in McIntosh Hall (Chattan).

Jelly Bean Awards

Postby Cain on Sat Apr 16, 2005 10:44 am

At the Garden Party on May 8th we'll be hosting a glittering awards ceremony for last year in hall.

There are as many categories as you want to nominate people for. Traditionally we've had
PDA award For the most obvious displays of affection between couples

Chalk and Cheese Award for mistmatched roommates

Sexiest man for... the sexiest man in hall

Sexiest woman for the sexiest woman in hall

you can also make up your own categories if somebody deserves special recognition for their contribution to hall. I'll be nominating people for

Best performance in a heckling

Quote of the year

Most Wasted

etc etc

Nominations can be placed on this thread with the person's name and the category that they are nominated in (a story may be helpful to support this), or given to myself, Martin Hopwood (Ents Rep) or Amy Glenn. If you see us about hall and want to nominate somebody, hand us a piece of paper and we'll sort it out.

And come to the Garden Paty on May 8th for all the fun.

worst drunken behaviour: Fiona Hunt for her rolling around on the floor at the front of hall, spilling Pringles outside D4 at 4.30am and most of all for her repetition of the word "everybody!" on Raisin Sunday...

Oh daughter, how proud I am of you!

The word "everybody" has, since that fateful evening, been eliminated from my vocabulary.
Perhaps I should do the same with "kittens"...

I think the Senior Student hecklings in which Jules and Louise had quite a few gos at each other was fairly entertaining. If there is really going to be a "Best performance in a heckling" award, it should go to Jules for pissing off the most people in the room that night.

Moderator's note: Unreg posts have to have a name for this to prevent electoral fraud - you wound't want to debase the prestige of the Worst Drunken Behaviour award would you?[s]Edited because the sinner doesn't use html, as i should know by now[/s]

My nomination for worst (not funny) drunken behaviour:
Young Fiona in the D-floor toilets one evening, banging on the walls, completely incoherent, throwing jam sandwiches down the toilet, and eventually being carried upstairs bodily by four people . . . it was funny in retrospect, I suppose, though the jam sandwich bit was very funny at the time, too . . .

I bet there's much worse behaviour out there, though, our hall isn't the most sober . . .

Oh, yes, and I almost forgot-- two nominations for "Biggest/Worst Gossip":

Nomination 1: Louise Hallman

Nomination 2: Alisdair Cain

And I've seen both of them on a number of occassions just sitting in the foyer with our lovely night porters waiting to see who brings whom home . . .

Quotes

Postby angel_kohaku on Tue Apr 19, 2005 9:50 pm

I would like to nominate some quotes (seconded and thirded by the 2 people in the room with me)

Cook's "Kids asses are just too damn small"

And Duncan's "The song came after the bum sex"

An afterthought....

Postby angel_kohaku on Tue Apr 19, 2005 9:55 pm

I think funniest drunken moment should go to Jessie and Andrew for "passing out" in bed after Alex's birthday do.

After escaping early (to go to bed) I hear about 2am Jessie and Andrew come crashing through the door. Nobody bothered to check I was asleep. I really needed to pee but I couldn't because they were otherwise "occupied". *sound fx - bed creakage, RHYTHMIC bed creakage, sighs, moans etc* You get the picture.

In the morning the official story line was that they came back and "passed out in bed"

Ten minutes! Ten f*cking minutes!

something will be going up on the noticeboard sometime soon.

Also, there are a few nominations in for spew of the year, with notable mentions to the American who boked a bottle of red on the common room floor during the frat party (just before everybody ran away, leaving Louise and I to tidy up), the raisin receipt that louise found on her chair, one from a Mr Chattan contestant and another from Mr Chattan himself in the raisin.

This will be the toughest one to call. They're all deserving and we haven't even begun.

Totally seconding the nomination of Max and Jonathan for the chalk and cheese award. As I think anyone who has ever been in their room would -- one side is Spartan, the other side looks like a tornado has been through it. It would be creepy if it weren't so funny.
