Garden Party this Sunday!

For people in McIntosh Hall (Chattan).

Garden Party this Sunday!

Postby little headache on Tue May 03, 2005 5:59 pm

We're holding voting for Jelly Bean Awards all this week at lunch and dinner-- 20p per vote. Free to nominate. Make up your own category or support others in their bids for "Spew Of the Year," "Most Obnoxious Drunk," "Sexiest Man/Woman," etc.

Also, nominations and votes for gunging at the Garden Party are being taken-- £1 per nomination, and 20p per subsequent vote. The three people with the most votes get covered in custard!

Please bring money to lunch and dinner so you can make the Garden Party the best event this year!

I think you'll find it's Hopwood's to organise `The Garden Party'

Sunday (I think)! You should come, it's going to be great... as long as we have enough people there :) Nominate people for gunging as well; we only have a few, and they're all from E floor.

That should get you voting for the Custard Vote. 20p/vote, at the table at the top of the foyer all through lunch and dinner between now and the Garden Party

i think you'll find the garden party was ace last year mostly down to luck and the appearance of a handsome stranger with a black belt in BBQ.

;)

(ps. hope someone actually organises having a BBQ at it this year instead of the nonsense that happened last time round)

Hall Garden Party

Postby liliputian on Sat May 07, 2005 8:40 pm

Party starts at 3pm and lasts until the all the booze and food has gone!

We've got more than enough beef burgers, veggie burgers and ice-cream for everyone, and there's plenty of beer and punch to get you all started. BYOB is also strongly encouraged! Non-alcoholic punch will be provided for all those of us who still have work to do and thus can't get wasted...

Jelly bean awards and Custard votes will also be annouced. Last chance to vote will be at lunchtime (12.30pm - 1.00pm) tomorrow.

We would advise you don't wear anything you don't want ruined - pretty much everyone ends up with gunge/custard on them eventually!

Now all we have to do is hope the rain stays away!

Your luverly Senior and Deputy Senior Student,
David and Louise

And no David - we don't own a hall BBQ due to the financial mess we've been left in after overspending on the ball and damages bills. The fact that we're having a Graden Party at all is a small miracle...

Can we stop slandering me please.

The money pit you refer to would be the charity calendar, which you yourself were involved in. The ball was a value for money event which did not overspend. The garden party is ofcourse at the expense of events such as raffles and slave auyctions, which normally would be charitable, are now for garden party funding. A small miracle it is not, a stroke of intellegent thinking it is. Not intellegent thinking is a garden party without a certain insane would-be army type at the barbecue helm.

back to the garden party...

on a general point, the last chance to vote will BE at the garden party, as polling will closea few minutes before the custard vote itself. this gives people a late late chance to buy themselves out of trouble, or to cement somebody's place in the top three.

you won't want to miss this.

Yeah muchas gracias to Zach, Jenny and Dhwani (for a short while). And also thanks to whoever cleared the common room and everyone else who helped clear outside. Shame we couldn't control the weather...

btw when we will know who won the Jellybean Awards?

i meant... could you not rely on someone improvising with 5 disposible BBQs! and actually get a real one.

its not hard all you do is go to the scouts sufficiently in advance and ask to borrow theirs.

We asked Anja's boyfriend (one of the scout leaders) and he said no.
