Saturday night plea

Postby Chris on Tue Sep 06, 2005 3:20 pm

Having had a gander at the plans for the first saturday night of freshers could I make a plea that someone leave an idea of where the crawl will go, or a mobile number, so that those of us poor souls being entrusted to the railway know how to find everyone else when we finally stagger in! Ta

not much point in that - there are many little crawls that bugger off all around town - the best ones are ont second night anyway so no worries on missing anything

if you're really worried about missing out on the Sat night, I may leave my mobile number with the wardens so stragglers can catch up.

most of the fun will be in the common room anyway. at least, it will be after closing hours.

we'll be sitting on the new uncomfortable chairs until at least 4 i should imagine.

Well, they have thrown out many of the chairs in the bedrooms, as there was a pile of them behind Chattan just after hall closed. Don't know about the common room.

they also threw out the "£300" comfy chairs and installed the armchairs that some people had at their desk for the common room.

Not sure if it'll remain that way during term time, but i do know that our favourite chairs are no more.

apparently they're going to eventually change them for better chairs but there was no money in the budget. how true this is i don't know but the old bedroom chairs are indeed in the commonroom. rumour also has it that there is a sofa in the commonroom now... but i've yet to see this for myself.

The sofa will probably be stolen, the last sofa in the common room was stolen the day it was purchased.

it's the sofa from the Subwarden flat as they no longer have a livingroom but instead 4 subwardens.

What? They threw out the chairs? Should have had a few of those. They were exceptionally comfy. Especially when they had the springs in.

Yes... and the springs were particularly useful for fending off... well... anyone, really. They could pack quite a punch if well aimed.

...but then again, that is only my opinion.
