Welcome young ones. Glad you found this board.

Sorry it looks a bit dead at the moment, sadly with everyone scattered to the wind there's not a lot to be discussed.

Fear not though. I'm sure there are plenty of bored Chattanites sitting at home waiting for SOMETHING to happen between each 30second page refresh... Just me? Oh...

Anyway, tell your friends about us. Ask us questions. Post random rubbish. It doesn't matter, this is your board now, make of it what you will! You are the future, this board is your oyster... and other such inspirational clichés.

But seriously, we'd all appreciate some new input. :)

I've tried to post here twice now, but I never saw my posts in the thread. Anyways, I've now registered so I hope this works now xD

I'm an incoming Fresher and I'll be staying in McIntosh, D*, a single.

I heard that this room is rather small... So, how small is "small"?

[s]Editted by Mod... please don't post actual room numbers. It's against board policy as it breaches privacy rules. Thanks - Mod[/s]

I experienced the same "problem" last summer. The board admin needs to see all unregistered user posts before they appear on the board (or at least that's the understanding I got last year). So be patient, everything will end up here eventually I'm sure. I'm a returning second year to C.

Hey guys,

Yeh, sorry if your posts don't come up for a bit. I have limited internet access at the moment, so can't get on to approve messages everyday.

I need to transfer the mod-ship actually, as I've just graduated...

But bear with me, for now... I will try and get your posts up as soon as possible!

Keep posting.

Thanks,
Alex (Mod-for-now)

I'm an incoming fresher who will be in a single in McIntosh, on D floor.

What are the rooms like there?

To answer your question, none of the rooms on D floor are that small. A few, esp up the far end away from teh main door are a bit cramped as doubles, and some are massive!

To see a small room head down to the E-floor to the "comedy room". That's tiny... I probably shouldn't be saying this, but I'm sure there are prison cells bigger.
A few of the rooms on B and C floor (in the middle, where the corridor goes past the stone stairs - you'll see when you get there) are pretty cupboard-like.

D-floor is pretty good for room sizes, but it does have the fact that it is the main corridor through the hall and therefore people will be walking along it at all hours, so it's not the quietest floor.

I'm on D floor, and I'm a second year. Are the D rooms a step up from Andrew Melville?

Every room in McIntosh is a step up from Smellville!

As well as that may be, what about size?

[s]I loved Melville, I just couldn't walk that far into town 6+ times a day...[/s]

that really depends on the room. there's a lot of variation. the shared rooms are generally a decent size, but the singles vary from closet-like to nice and big.

Never seen a single on A but I've heard that all the rooms up there are decent.
