I would suggest linguistics as well, as you're doing languages. I didn't do it in first semester (did Ancient Greek - stay away from that!), but second semester was really interesting and not difficult at all. It ties in well with the other languages, so would be more relevant than other subjects.
I also do Ancient History and that's interesting in first year too, but is more an introductive chronological account of Roman and Greek history. Still a great class to take and the lecturers are lovely.
