what exactly will take place during freshers week?

I just wondered if there are set events that take place every year during freshers week and if anyone knows the way the week pans out.
I also wondered if the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students avoid mixing with all us new kids because we are the annoying younglings?
thanks

I heard that there are lots of exciting events planned, though you have to wait a bit to find out what they are.

Many 3rd and 4th years will want some academic children, so they will not avoid you.

I hear there is going to be alot of drinking,
Esp if you end up in McIntosh.
Alot of the returning 2nd years plan on get most, if not all, the first years drunk.

... and I'm sure the union will do stuff too.

I'm Telling you.
It was the Ninja Robot Monkeys that did it.

The union will have events planned every night, and most halls will put on things too. Plenty to do in freshers week. :)

And dont forgett the freshers week debate. Always funny and always great fun. It should be on the Wednesday night. Turn up early to avoid dissapointment.

Also you will be getting a freshers guide at some point which will introduce you to most of the societies and will tell you what they have planned. My advice - go with the flow in freshers week. Do what you want and be flexible. DONT BE AFRAID JUST TO TURN UP. The important thing to remember is that YOU ARE WELCOME EVERYWHERE! People want you to have fun and participate so dont worry to much about it. Follow the advice above and you will have an amazing time!

In my expirience Third and Fourth years are very friendly and will be happy to talk to you and make friends with you especially in societies.

Good luck for the exam results and see you next year.
Rob.

It will basically be one of those weeks, where you are either drunk or hungover.

It will be great though.
