Indeed it would, if you intend to go to more than a couple of balls in four years. In any case the poster implied that he had one already, so wouldn't need to buy one.

I've seen people dressing in full tweed suits including waistcoat and matching hat, also with monocle and cigarette holder, I wouldn't worry about high heels.

Unless of course the point of the thread is that you are male. Then yeah that's weird and I wouldn't advise it around the locals.
