There should be a gown sale sometime during Fresher's week where you can buy second hand gowns. I got mine for 70 or 80 pounds back then, second hand. New they'd be about 120 pounds.

If you're looking for something much cheaper than that you better try and find someone selling their gown themselves, but finding gowns for lower prices may be hard.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.

70-80 pounds sounds good.. i don't have 120 pounds right now with me [at least as long as i don't have a bank account opened] and i don't know whether i would like to spend that much - i will look around and see what can be done... having a gown would be really nice - anybody willing to sell one? x]

thanks!

Try posting on the Classifieds meassageboard. Also I believe Bess has second-hand ones. And if you don't find one straight away, don't worry, it's really not that important to have one - plenty of ppl buy them only to wear them twice, or indeed don't buy one at all.

BESS buy back gowns for up to £40, so if you can find someone who wants to sell privately and you can offer them more than that then that would be your best bet.

Otherwise, BESS hold the gown sale in Orientation Week (which will have since passed) where most of the second hand gowns are sold within a few days at around £80 a pop.

During the year BESS have the odd gown in stock and new ones can always be ordered in, but you'd be paying around £120, give or take, for one of those :)
