"Yes, Minister"

Postby David Bean on Tue Dec 28, 2004 1:13 am

My first post on this board. Hurrah. Here's hoping for a happy, healthy and successful 2005 in Melville.

The real reason for this post, however, was to say that my mother very kindly gave me the DVD box set of "Yes, Minister" for Christmas, and I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in a marathon some night.

I thought you might be. And of course I know who you are - I have eyes and ears everywhere. Muahahahaha...

(Or I might just have read it on your Live Journal...)

I wish I wasn't alone in my house right now... where are you?!

On an unrelated note, since this is the Melville Board, I would like to say that I was the last Student to leave Melville for the Holidays.

I'll work out who you are eventually.

Jonny, lock the doors, lock the windows, put something heavy behind the door. Then get a chainsaw, sword, gun baseball bat etc and hide in the least accessable room in your house. I am coming to get you...

All doors locked ... room safe... but have not been foolish enough to hide in the room you told me to ... or have I?

I shall defeat you ... if I ever discover who you are!

I can assure Ellroy that the only thing I was trying to say about Jonny (the now-unmasked JAK) is that I knew who he was, and nothing I said should be construed as an incitement to assault with a deadly weapon, to wit, a chainsaw, upon the aforementioned Jonny. I should also now like to disclaim any responsibility for any such assaults, and assert that any similarity with any real events is purely coincidental.

Ahem.

What were we talking about, again?

And is it possible logically to fit the word 'any' into a sentence more times than that?

You were discussing a possible Yes, Minister marathon?

I'd be up for it, would the mysterious EllRoy, who reads my lj, I take it, be interested?

"Yes Minister" is brilliant. Have you seen Paul Eddington in anything else, for example "The Good Life," which was on TV last night?

Woo! I shall be there, despite the fact that I have an exam at 9:30 tomorrow. Like that could keep me from great British comedy!
