Sad laptop

Postby --uli-- on Tue Oct 28, 2008 4:22 pm

My laptop has been struggling for a while (overheating issues, battery doesn't hold a charge, painfully slow performance...) and as of yesterday about a quarter of the screen doesn't work. Can anyone tell me if this sounds fixable, and where the best place to go for an estimate is? If it's going to cost loads I may as well just buy a new one.
Many thanks!

You could replace the battery if you can find one for sale, but it won't be exactly cheap. Can't say what's causing the screen problems - it could be a faulty LCD or video device (most likely soldered onto the motherboard), and by the time you've replaced those you've replaced 3/4 of the laptop. Probably easiest to get a new one.
