WANTED: accommodation from mid September until end January

Dear all,

I am Stijn Van Impe, PhD candidate in philosophy at Ghent University (Belgium). I will be spending the forthcoming Martinmas Semester 2011-2012 as a visiting postgraduate research student at the department of philosophy of St Andrews.

I am still looking for accommodation at St Andrews from mid September 2010 until the end of January 2012 (but, if necessary I am gladly willing to pay the rent for the entire month of September). While I am not very picky regarding accommodation, I do prefer a quiet, calm place to stay with some privacy as I intend to work hard on my research at St Andrews. . I would be very grateful if any of you could help me in finding a suitable place to stay. I would be very much obliged if I could receive your suggestions via e-mail (Stijn.VanImpe@UGent.be).

I would describe myself as social, calm, responsible, friendly, tolerant, and open-minded with regard to other people’s points of view, thoughts, opinions, traditions, cultures, beliefs, etc. As a student, I have shared housing with different fellow students. So you might say I have some experience in getting along with people and finding comprises about how to settle the practical aspects of peacefully living together and respecting each other’s privacy and needs. In my leisure time, I love to play badminton, enjoy a game of American pool, read poetry, (philosophically oriented) novels and books on history, listen to different kinds of music on my ipod, go out dining from time to time, or have a nice chat and fun with friends in a cosy atmosphere with a glass of beer or wine.
