Available: double room in 2-bed Edinburgh flat, £275/month

Hello

I'm about to move into a 2-bedroom Edwardian tenement flat in Edinburgh & am looking for someone to flatshare with me. I'm a recent MLitt graduate (English, Nov 2010) who now works in Edinburgh. The flat is less than 10 minutes' walk to Haymarket Station, from which the train to Leuchars/St Andrews would take just under an hour. You would also be a short walk to the West End bus stand (on Queensferry Street near the House of Fraser junction), where you could catch the Stagecoach bus services to St Andrews - X54, X59, X60.

The room is small but brightly lit. It has high ceilings, a large window, and a raised built-in galley-style wooden double bed. It's cozy. There's a small writing desk, a medium-sized cupboard, book shelves built onto the walls, & storage space under the bed.

The flat is top floor & has four rooms in total - 2 bedrooms, a large room with the kitchen at one end and lounge with dining table at the other, and an interior bathroom with shower & tub. Other details: GCH, fridge, freezer, gas cooker & electric oven, mains-powered shower (with great pressure!), washing machine, hardwood floors throughout, old-fashioned pulley drying rack & extra storage space in boiler cupboard.

Of course, being in Edinburgh, this flatshare would be best suited to someone without daily scheduling requirements in St Andrews. As a postgraduate with 3 hours of seminars per week last year, I myself commuted from Edinburgh's West End for most of my degree & found it quite a manageable set-up.

If you'd like more details, please feel free to contact me on <isbeljames@yahoo.com>. I'll be moving into the property 28 March and doing some extensive interior repainting. I'd hope to fill the room by mid-May at the latest, and for a minimum of 6 months, but am willing to consider shorter stays.

Cheers
Isbel
