I'd rather have all of them off...in England we get Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day, and Spring bank holiday. Why is Scotland so stingy with its bank holidays?

And I bet the post office/banks etc will all be shut tomorrow

I'm not convinced that Scotland is stingy with its public holidays, we just take them at different times of year. You don't get January 2nd off south of the border.

The reason it's not given in Scotland, as there's a set number per year of bank holidays, Scotland want Jan 2nd off, so they have to move it from Easter Monday.

The banks may not trade today, because they harmonise their holidays with England (oweing to the fact that most of the trading is done in England), but then again, the government can't force a bank to open or close whatever the day.

Ah, but there's a feature length Diagnosis Murder special. That's better than Neighbours, surely?

Even if that's the case, then I still think the English ones are at more sensible times of the year. What's the point having January 2 off? It's cold and miserable. Wouldn't you rather have a day like today off - have a long weekend where you can actually do something rather than a day in January?

I'm just bitter though because south street is crawling with bloody tourists who are getting on my nerves.

Good Friday isn't a recognised by the University because it is Presbyterian.
