It says that in Melville, "The average ratio is one bedroom to seven guests." Sounds like a bit of a squash to me.

Those prices are outrageous. If they fill all the spaces in Chattan, DRH and Melville they are going to make a bloody fortune. Like a million quid.

The only mention I found of New Hall was under the 'additional nights' section:

'Accommodation prior to Monday 11 July and from Monday 18 July onwards is available in New Hall.'

About £40 for a single (not quite sure how that works, given that we all get double beds) and £60 for a double, including breakfast. Presumably New Hall is open to 'normal' people during the week, or they don't take on guests at all so the postgrads can get some sleep. :)
If Jack Bauer was put in a room with Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler and Nina Myers and handed a gun with two bullets, he'd shoot Nina twice.

From the website:
Please view the booking form, print, complete and fax back to us enclosing a reservation fee of £50.00 per person

I've never been able to fax money before. What a clever system they've got lined up!

I thought that as well, but it is a lot more modern than most of the residences in town.

Of course, they could be using the word "modern" as a euphemism for "hideous".

Call me cynical, but I think New Hall is probably reserved for some exclusive group. They charged £700ish for rooms there for the week last time, and with 500 rooms, they will not pass up on the additional revenue. Call me cynical if you like.

£700-ish is what it feels like you pay in New Hall anyway...

I find it amusing that in the pictures of DRA, they have to put in flowers and candles (Which we can't have) to brighten it up.

DRA prices are a shocker. Where are my complimentary tea and coffees? I resent that I'm paying contribution towards a 'restaurant and bar' that won't be finished before i leave dra. Boo hiss uni.

Surely with all the money they make with these extorionate prices, they can lower our hall rents to some extent. Or are they going to spend it on the paying science post graduates as usual.

Whilst making money from "escape to tranquility" ought to be as easy as a piss-up in brewery, I think the University really isn't doing that well, now there's a surprise particularly as ResBus is so well run.

Has anyone else noticed that they have spelt Tranquility wrong? They have spelt it with 2 l's instead of just one. And its in both the domain name AND the logo!

*sigh*
