And because I'm really lazy - has anyone read the Dawn Thief trilogy? I think that series kind of demonstrates why "realistic" fantasy books are a bit boring, it lacked any real sense of epic scale. Not to mention that it used the classic "Oh, no! someone has died but come back to life!"

Every month of society will consist of:
Week 1: whatever meeting - book swap, talk, wine, quizz whatever
Week 2: episode of a series
Week 3: Sci-fi film
Week 4: Fantasy film
+ any events we all want
Series will be FIREFLY, + there's a new mini series of Battlestar Gallactica out - I've never seen it, might be interesting + anything else
Sci-fi films: The day the earth stood still; Plan 9
Fantasy: Krull, + gotta get labryinth in!!!
Subject to polls; only a rough plan.
Gonna try to affiliate by end of week. Stragglers can sign up on Thurs.

we were there really! With a sign! 2-2.30 Three girls with dark hair, then added a guy with a drink, then add three guys with drinks! I feel gutted -I thought everyone had just changed their minds! I'm going to union tommorrow 'cause apparently there may be an old sciffy account, so u could sign up then; please we NEED people!I'm going to the union at 12pm, I can sit there 12-12.30 if u want (please tell me) I'd be the nervous, brownhaired girl:)Um, I could even bring my (small but pretty) paper sign!!
God, just thought! Are their other people who didn't notice us?? Please tell me ASAP, 'cause I can't stand the thought of e-mailing people again who are annoyed with me (esp as would be 3rd e-mail!!)
(sorry I constantly edit!) The fact that I am willing to sit alone in the union bar with a sign saying sciffy should be enough to make people turn up out of pity.

Sian and Liz were leaving (exams in two days!); I would have stayed but I didn't want to stay in case I was imposing:) Plus I had to buy and give my sister her birthday present (I had forgotten the card, that's why I walked past u guys outside union.)We did say that we were leaving at 2.30 We're kind of shy, but hey! I don't know if sciffy wanted to get together in last two days of term . . feedback people feedback.

Eek... please don't complain, we haven't even had our first meeting yet, and our enthusiasm is already crumbling from criticisms here, there and all over the place! Rest assured, if we came across as quiet, it's out of... well, being quiet, we didn't intend to be impolite : )! I apologise if you were offended. We're doing our best to try and get this soc set up - having left it so long means there is a lot to organise, while at the same time exams are rearing their ugly heads.

That said, thankyou so so much to everyone who has offered to help even when they're really busy with exams too... tis muchly appreciated!

If you didn't you really should take a look. It was a bit mixed, but some of them were priceless.
