Do you rate Star FM?

Postby Prophet Tenebrae on Thu Mar 10, 2005 11:28 pm

It's been a little while since the radio station we were promised for so long has launched - is it the best thing since the Sinner or just a mass of shattered dreams?

from what ive heard the music is pretty good, jury is still out tho, need more time to see if the presenters can keep goin and not run out of material, id assess it after a month.

plus is there a way that we can find out the rating of the station, so we know how many people listen

I love the music shows that i've listened to, but there was a talk show last night that i just had to turn off.

I would be very happy for STAR to get the go ahead. they've done a great job so far.

i've been liking it, tho consistently the presenter vocals are too loud for the stream so it makes it hard to hear what they are saying!

Me and my workmate James (who actually presents the radio station's sports show) were listening to it tonight between serving customers. It was the Ben and Matt show and we actually couldn't stop laughing- it's pretty immature, but we secretly enjoyed their playing (and singing over the tope of) Take That's 'Back for Good', and tthe fact that they dared to play the theme to Dirty Dancing. We just kept cracking up... well funny. Definitely tuning into that again.

For my two cents, I think Fleur and Blair are great although I usually only catch the end of their show. Matt "awesome" is funny and he's like that in real life. Yeah Matt and Ben are good silly listening. And it all sounds pretty professional.

It's really rather wonderful to have a St Andrews radio station. I say, well done!

..erm, and I can't think of anything else to say.

Does anyone else have difficulty tuning in to it? My radio dial just doesn't go far enough to the left. Have been enjoying listening to it online, though, and all credit to everyone involved: good music, and decent presenting. Actually, I heard there was going to be another trial period in November - how do I get involved with it, anyone?

It's brilliant to have a radio station at last, even if it is only temporary at the moment.

It's because STAR broadcasts in the part of the electromagnetic spectrum normally reserved for warming cups of coffee or defrosting frozen lasagnes.

I can't get it on my radio. I set it to the right frequency, but there is just no signal there. I managed to listen to it for about 3 miutes online yesterday, but then there was an error. Pity, I'd like to give it a proper listen to. I'll keep at it.

I'm just wondering if they can perhaps use the air time a bit better. It seems silly to have nothing being broadcast in the afternoon. An afternoon show should have been done or at least carry another broadcaster on the same frequency so the airwaves don't remain silent.

Other than that i've found it quite entertaining. Well done Star FM

I think Star FM has been great, I really enjoyed last Saturday's show with the Northern Monkeys, they introduced loads of cool stuff I haven't heard before.
