Does a Mercedes Benz keychain really cost $30?

I like the fact one of his letters mentions a boston terrier called L'il Brudder. HSR references get everywhere.

Yeah, shocking, isn't it? MB have a catalogue they put in the back of their car service manuals with all their merchandise. Must be seen as a status symbol to have MB keychains and the like.

the guy lists the BMW one he got at value $18.
i've never really thought of BMW's as a big status thing though, at least not in the same league as Mercedes Benz.

I've always looked at BMW and Mercedes to be six and half a dozen status wise.

I have a Steiff Mercedes silver teddy bear... it would have been freakin' expensive (somewhere beyond 200 Euros), but my Dad used to work there - lucky meeeee...

They are something of a status symbol among the nouveau riche, and people who think they are drug dealers. Everyone knows a real gentleman drives a Bristol.
