Everytime I see any news story about this man, I wish I had a voodoo doll of him I could stick pins in. I hate him oh so much. Mostly because of how many many many people worship the ground he walks on and treat his pseudo-historical blather as fact. Or truth be told, the fact that he PEDALS it as well-researched-completely-accepted fact. It's not the subject matter. It's the sheer disregard for any standard of accuracy or intellectual honesty. < /end rant>

One last one - Randy Quaid. This star of Independence Day (he played the hick who flew the jet fighter into the spaceship screaming "YEEEEEEEHAH!!") and Pluto Nash (which made a record-breaking loss of roughly 95 million dollars) is now suing the makers of Brokeback Mountain for $10 million simply because the film was a surprise hit and made more money than expected. Quaid originally lowered his fee for the low-budget production, but now wants a cut of the money. I haven't seen the film, but I can't help but hate the greedy bastard.

in Dennis Quaid's defense, I heard that it wasn't that the film made money, it was that he was told it was just going to be a small-release art film, you know, for festivals. And lower budget than it was. I heard that he thought it wasn't going to be a broadly released big commercial venture.
