i recommend dressing up as a Ned.

socks over trackies
trainers
footie shirt
gold jewellry
cap at a 45 degree angle
bottle of ginger

to develop the Ned-look further, get urself a Ned-girlfriend

hair in high-ponytail with 5 scrunchies
similar ned clothes
hoop earrings
baby or small child
gold necklace with name on it

Voila! cheap alternative to a dressing up costume!

That is without doubt the best idea for a fancy dress party I've ever heard. You could made punch out of buckfast, cheap cider, pimms and gin.

Thanks Nick! I'm glad u like it! But remember its my idea, so i have to be invited if u get round to having a "yahs and neds" party" before i do, ok? and id like my name on any "yahs and Neds" literature that is distributed, eg. invitations. agreed?

should anyone wish to host a "yahs and neds party", as previously suggested by moi, then i should like to be consulted and of course, invited.

I once saw two girls dressed up as freudian slips for a party. They wore silk (or similar material) slips, and each wrote "freudian" across her chest (above the neckline of the slip.) That's pretty cheap and kinda clever...

maybe someday I'll steal the idea.

The trick, Vic, is not to give away your ideas for party themes until you have a cast-iron guarantee that you will be invited to the aforesaid party.

A friend and I entered a school fancy dress competition as a pair of wellies, made out of cardboard and binliners. We won a prize as well!
