Banking for International Students

Does anyone know of a bank in St. Andrews that would give an international student an overdraft and/or switch card? I am currently with the Bank of Scotland, and can only get a Solo.

Thanks :)

Re:

A big part of Hope Street is divided into large rooms. Residences have their own TV, bed, and fridge, but have to share bathrooms and kitchen facilities. The room you get is huge, but the price is exorbitant! I am happily moving into a flat on Greyfriars Garden next year. I've looked at two flats on...

Getting Deposit Back?

Our 5-person group just put down £400 each (£2,000 total) for a deposit on a flat. The flat is used as a self-catered facility for tourists during the summer; thus, we had to put down a large amount of money. I don't expect to get all of the deposit back, but £2000 is a large amount of money. Is the...

Flats

I am going to be paying £92/week for a flat on Greyfriars, but it's really nice, and I would rather pay a bit more for a place in which I'll be comfortable. It has a washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, and three full bathrooms for five people. I found that certain estate agents tend to be more expens...

Rollo, Davidson, and McFarlane?

Has anyone gone in for interviews yet? I have not heard anything yet, but I have heard that people have gotten calls of rejection. We turned our application in last Friday, which was the day they recommended.

Results Question

Are the results that you see on your student record card just the results of your exam or your total grade for the term?

Kerry Favored Over Bush

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/02/02/elec04.poll.prez/index.html Not sure who is interested, but this new poll shows Kerry beating Bush. Edwards and Clark are also within a margin of error, and would likely be favored if they had been anointed by the U.S. media a la Kerry. Bush has a natural ad...

Re:

I agreed with PurelySynthetic's post. Flat hunting is extremely stressful, as everyone is looking. Eve Brown has about two properties left have not be taken. DRA was an expensive investment, and yielded equally expensive housing. It will cost about £100/week to live there, and while utilities are in...

Fees

£98 does seem like a lot to pay for small rooms and shared facilities. Plus, I find that I have to cater for myself much of time, as the window of time for meals tends to be quite short. The average private flat costs about £65/week, £70-£75 with bills.
