Re: Tay Bridge

Although it looks like it's stuck in the 90s, they do update it frequently when the bridge is closed.

Re: Anxiety and public speaking

You might like the postgrad x-change things run by gradskills. It's a similar idea to what you've got (although I felt not terribly well explained the first couple of times). 3 people give talks, then everyone can ask questions, and one person is chairing, making sure noone goes over time etc.

Re: Need accommodation? Groupshare!

You may want to edit your email addresses - maybe remove the @st-andrews.ac.uk bit - otherwise you'll end up with lots and lots of spam

free chest of drawers

Small chest of 4 drawers. Blue handles. One handle missing, but still usable.

Measures about 35x65x70 cm (14x26x28in)

Must collect from St Andrews before end of July. I've managed to move this in a big taxi before so you could do that if needed.

Re: how much are your bills?

Mobile broadband is okay but expensive if you use it lots. It's also not as fast and you're limited who you can use in St A's (three is pretty good, t-mobile gets no signal at all, but that could change as they combine networks with orange). I meant the 12 month contracts for landline broadband. If ...

Re: how much are your bills?

If you're all students you don't pay council tax, which includes water. TV licence is £150 for the year, you can pay monthly or quarterly or all at once but they charge slightly more for some methods. You can get a refund for the last 3 months if you don't need it over the summer. http://www.tvlicen...

Re: Conscription of the work shy?

Slightly offtopic, but for future reference, zachtan2003, even if you don't have a contract, you still have rights. I'd imagine it'd be hard to show either way, but have a look at the shelter website for more details about housing law (renting etc). http://www.shelter.org.uk/

Re: Orange Wednesday 2 for 1 in St Andrews

Nope, there's 2 cinemas in dundee that do, but you'd need to change busses in the city centre so unless you can drive then it's easier not to bother.

Re: Postgrad housing in DRA

The flats tend to be just postgrads or just undergrads. Postgrads are mixed between phd and masters students though.
