Re:

I have to respond to Lee's post as I was just talking about this with a friend the other day! We were saying how all of the people we know who left school at 16 seem to be doing really well for themselves! My own cousin who left school at 16 with a couple of not so great Standard Grades has just bou...

Re:

I have been on an Orange phone contract for about 5 years and never have a problem. Every year when my contract expires, I call and say I want to cancel as I can get the handset I want on a lower monthly bill elsewhere - and every year they pass me to retentions and I walk away with a nifty handset ...

If your entitled to one you would have been contacted by now. You sound a little like a colleague of mine. We tend to describe him has having some sort of 'social' gene missing or suspect that he was never around any other children when he was young and at an age when most children learn how to socialise. He has absolutely no concept of social boundaries and t...

Re:

All I know is I have had my ibook for 4 years and it sill runs like a dream. Any PC I have ever owned has managed to drive me crazy in half the time. The only downsides are 1. Only 30GB hard drive - I was trying to keep the cost down so I went for the lower spec. Although I now have a 250GB external...

Re:

I remember the old school bop finales like Final Countdown and Don't Stop me Now. Not forgetting the timeless 500 miles as mentioned which seems to span the generations! I always found amusing how the freshers used to get super excited about such bop tunes 'cos (like most people) they hadn't heard t...

Bop Anthems

What do you think the biggest bop anthems are? i.e. if they didn't play any of these songs then you just couldn't call it a bop!! My first suggestion has to be Summer of 69 ... a song which I whole heartedly loved and respected before hearing it every Friday night of my life for 4 years :P Keep 'em ...

Hello :-) Just noticed this thread so I thought I would contribute seeing as we are nearing graduation 2008! I graduated last year, didn't really know what to do with myself and ended up back at home with my parents working in a call centre. Although I've almost been driven insane by my work and my ...

Re:

Re the whole dates thing. To be honest I don't think that she should have mentioned dates in any of the book, as it just causes confusion! From details of the 'muggle' settings we would have been able to guess that the kids were growing up the 90s, there was no need for exact dates. [hr] [s]"You can...

I'm just sad its all over :( I have to say though, even though I loved every second of reading it, I was a tiny but disappointed with book 7. Like others, I feel that the Harry, Ron & Hermione hiding out in the tent saga went on a little too long. Also, I didn't really like the fact that Dumbledore ...

I think that people over a certain income threshold (taking number of dependants in their family into consideration) and those with no long term illness or disability should be made to pay for private healthcare, therefore reducing the strain on the NHS, resulting in better free healthcare for those...

I also agree with the subjective nature of departmental regulations - it is amazing how the standard of marking as well as the degree of flexibility can be so diverse! However, as many people have said - all four of the ancients offer very very similar systems. So it doesn't matter if you transfer t...

Look at the section which says "degree awarded".
