Re:

There are a few access to medicine courses. Some Universities have a foundation year. All stipulate at least a 2.1 in any subject. I know quite a few people who've got into medicine via College of West Anglia. Not all universities recognise the access course qualification, but that doesn't necessari...

Re:

I don't know the law, but I know that Alan Davies was once caught out on Q.I. by saying that treason still carried the death penalty. If memory serves me, Stephen Fry smugly informed Davies that the death penalty for treason was abolished in the 70s, and deducted five points. [hr] "I've done a lot o...

Re:

Pinkymoo, I'm sure you earnestly believe you saw ghosts, but to extend my previous point a little: when you or I see a ghost, the more likely explanation is *always* that it was an hallucination, however authentic. Re:

What on earth are you talking about? If there are ghosts, by what means do you suppose they perambulate and execute actions, without a brain or a body? Or, if you take it that they lack agency and linger in one place like cannonsmoke, what allows the particles to hang together in the way that they d...

Woke up, ate a large sandwich from a station, went to an interview, lied about ability, read The Information, ate more station sandwiches, had a long train journey, swore at a railway employee, got home, found mobile charger, got pint of water, am knackered. And now, new Simpsons.

Re:

Most patronising! Variations in formal construction are all well and good, but vacuous meaning cannot be substituted by alternative layout and pacing..... I agree. I certainly think I went over the top with 'genius' in my first post. Don't know why I did. Possibly because I'm also from the Borders,...

If they're meant to be funny their not God that's terrible grammar. Some of them are meant to be funny I think, but what you should be looking out for in this kind of comic is the formal construction. It's all about layout, pacing, and so on. This is artsy work rather than the populist - and, frank...
