There was a thread discussing this at the weekend:

Re:

I don't know if its always been there, but this week I've noticed a themometer on the desk above the long loan return slot. Its a health and safety one with diferent levels marked on it. It is usually in the "OK" section, so at least in that one spot it would appear to be warm enough.

Re:

Quoting ezra from 19:01, 22nd Nov 2005 I am making no such mistake: I am assuming that people have reason to be moral, regardless of their desires. The serial rapist ought not to continue raping women; it doesn't matter what he wants to do. The demands of morality are categorical and inescapable. M...

Quoting Grandpa from 04:42, 22nd Nov 2005 Where the hell is the point in University Hall having the only copy of the latest economic book by a certain author in it's own bloody inaccessible, reference library . The book concerned is the only copy of this particular edition available anywhere in the...

Re:

Quoting José Jimenez from 17:39, 30th Oct 2005 What is morally wrong with becoming a private University if it possible to ensure that everyone who is academically eligable attends? And if the poor and middle class stop subsidising the rich? Doesn't that seem more fair to you - more morally correct?...

Re:

How good was that last night???

Circle pits in St Andrews, and a DJ just getting really into the music he's playing.

And its nice to see a "celebrity" whose willing to hang out in the crowd afterwards to do photos and hugs.

Re:

I wouldn't buy any until a few weeks into the semester - in 1st year I spent hundreds of pounds on the recommended books and hardly used them. All the core books are in the library.

But if you really want them, I'd check amazon before going to Balckwells in the union.

The easiest thing to do is go to the ELT building (kinnesburn) on Kennedy Gardens, above the north haugh near Uni Hall. They have the open association prospectuses and sign up sheets.
