Re:

You could also take the ferry over to the Isle of May (goes from Anstruther) as I think there are definately seals there all year round.

Re:

I agree that they were very young but I guess I was just relating the story to my own upbringing. Where I grew up our house was left unlocked while we were went to the local shops, my mum let me walk home from school alone when I was 4, she would go next door to our neighbour's house and leave me at...

Re:

What is wrong with leaving your kids a few metres away while you have dinner? Would people think it was as big a problem if they were having, say, a BBQ in their (large) garden leaving the kids sleeping upstairs and doors unlocked? Probably not. Anyway, the typical teenage babysitter is probably far...

Re:

The University usually has a lot of summer work going too - Reception staff for halls of residences acting as b&bs or self catering flats, cleaning, catering, porters etc. Not terrible pay and cheap accomodation if you need it, plus guaranteed banter working with loads of other students.

Re:

As I have graduated and left st. a's im probably not really qualified to offer my opinion on this but will do anyway - I would say keep the booking system. The booking system saves so much time and I personally found it a great help, especially when I was living further out of town.

Re:

Have to say I think it is your fault if you knowingly (or otherwise) kept the short loan books for 2 days and hoped to be let off on the grounds that there were other books available. There is no point in the library being flexible with fines because people would just take advantage of it. I once ca...

Re:

You could always reply to her "ad" with another email address and then be really interested etc etc and arrange to "see the flat." ...but thats probably a little immature and unnecessary. I'd say just be plain honest and say you saw the ad on the sinner and let her know that its fine with you and sh...

Depends what you mean by "tough" really - are we talking highest IQ-wise or workload wise? If workload wise I wouldn't have placed maths (or physics) that high up...And does neuroscience not count as biology?

Re:

They have exams before xmas here at Edinburgh uni and i much much much prefer the st. andrews way. I will admit it is a bit of a treat to have xmas hols when you dont actually have to do anything work-wise, but i still dont think it balances out the evilness of having exams right at the end of the s...

I am on Marvelon at the moment and haven't had any noticeable weight gain problems. Agree with nighteyes - expect some hormonal upset to start with. I personally find it easier to take the pill at night (i've also heard that if you feel nauseous with the pill, it helps to take it at night) mostly be...

When you say he chooses not to use deodorants is this a conversation you have had with the guy or just an assumption you've made? Anyway, yeah your RA is a good place to start. Or you could just pointedly spray air freshener near his door. He may get the hint (mostly joking here before people pounce...
