!R4523: The Aftermath of War

Does anyone know any of the details for IR4523? There doesn't seem to be any specific info on the website. Can anyone remember anything from the module ballots, specifically about the day the lectures will be on?

Re:

Quoting Mehmsy from 15:45, 13th Jul 2006 During the Nightline broadcast, I defended the shooting on the basis of the Sixth Commandment (which not only forbids murder, but also requires the means necessary to prevent murder). That had me laughing for a good moment. Oh, the irony! Silly religious peo...

The course is an MA with the possibility of further study. There's no funding provided by the university.

Postgrad funding

Does it exist? The uni I want to study at doesn't offer funding. Are there other organizations that I could approach?

Quoting from 01:54, 10th Jun 2006 doesnt that depend on whether you are going into honours, are in honours, or are graduating. I feel very sorry for those graduating with less than a 2.1, I did - I had a great CV apart from a 2.2 only know with a year in work have i recovered and only through work ...

Re:

You might have mixed Sid and I up, I was the one who made the comment about not receiving sex education. Though now that I think about it, we learned the biology, just not contraceptives, etc. Later on we were taught a bit about NFP and stuff.

Re:

Agreed, if you're an ardent tennis player you don't join a club that says "no ball games". However, religion's a bit different. Most people are born into a given faith - why then should they not express their own opinions on how and what the faith should teach? All religions have changed and adapte...

Quoting Miz Manda from 12:20, 6th Apr 2006 It is an *incredibly* unlikely situation. However, in the situation you described, the instinctual reaction is of course to save the little girl. This does not necessarily defeat the arguement and make us hypocritical, but rather proves that we're human an...

Re:

This isn't a question of seperating church and state. If you claim to be a follower of a certain religion, it seems logical to assume that this is because you accept their teachings, and want to try to apply them to your daily life. If you disagree on a point so major, why would you even want to cal...

Quoting maz from 01:22, 5th Apr 2006 Miz Manda and Sid, I'd like to know what you would do if you, your younger sister, or daughter etc ended up pregnant at the age of 14? This is obviously hypothetical, and I am asking what your answer would be, if this happened despite the obviously upstanding mo...

By the way, why should people (and a new child) be punished for supposed irresponsibility? (HATE THE SIN NOT THE SINNER LOL) I'm not sure what you mean here. Do you mean that the child is being punished by being forced to come into the world in less that perfect circumstances? If so, it's a still g...
