It's being aimed primarily at non-halls first years, but the events will be open to everyone.

Re:

You're not the only one out there, don't worry. Firstly - to help you find accommodation, the Students' Association is doing all it can to find houses and flats for rent, and giving you as much information as possible. Have a look at http://www.yourunion.net/news/index.php?page=article&news_id=1...

Re:

There's no point chasing all the student reps - best leave it to those who can do something about it. Namely DoR (James) and Pres (Andrew). DoSDA (Philippa) is working on a project for the students not living in halls (the Townsend Society), and DoES (Stacy) has nothing to do with the situation. Res...

Re:

Did you just ask Student Support Services, or did you ask in the General Office (or the sabbs?)

There are plenty of large condoms in the Union's supplies, so either pop into the union and ask the sabbs, or ask your local condom distributor to stock up on the size you need.

Re:

Firstly, thanks very much to MJC for sparing the time to come and talk to us about the website. Opening hours have now been added to the site under the "People and Contacts" section (though the vacation hours are yet to be confirmed). BAM provides us with the website system free of charge, and modif...

Re:

The Union's site has come on leaps and bounds in the last two months. We listened to what you had to say, made appropriate changes and we're still constantly updating and correcting the site. With the exception of Events and Services, all the sections of the site have been updated, AND we've added t...

Re:

There's already a sitemap featuring every page on the site - click on "sitemap" at the bottom of every page. It will be interesting to hear constructive feedback from someone who can offer a fresh insight as to how the union's website is perceived, given that (by your own admission), you aren't dire...

Quoting flailing_fairy from 11:16, 22nd Feb 2008
I remember last year Tennents/the union had some competition where you could win tickets... Wonder if they are doing it again this year? *ponders*

We'll check with the bar managers and suppliers, and get back to you on that.

Quoting minira from 12:38, 19th Feb 2008 I really want to see the Roma-Real Madrid game this evening but don't have a tv. What pubs will be showing it, anybody know? Will the Union have it on? Our Sports Fixtures are listed at http://www.yourunion.net/content/index.php?page=19352 (Events & Services...

Re:

Quoting JohnMac from 14:45, 18th Feb 2008 On the RAG week group, it said that the money from the last bop did not go to the charities campaign. Is that normal? I thought in previous years only a bit of the money went to the Union and the rest was for charity? I hope that more than the 50p suggested...

Re:

Moving the DJ unfortunately isn't as simple as just shifting him and his records (or her). All the wiring has to be taken into account, and with the number of lines into the mixing desk for the Main Bar PA, that's a rather complex task. If/when the Main Bar is refurbished, all this could be taken in...

Quoting Fawksie from 10:41, 16th Feb 2008 Quoting Director of Services from 16:28, 15th Feb 2008 It's your union, make a difference. Is this the Association's new slogan? At least it's better than the asinine "your union - do stuff" which preceded it. Asinine? Hardly. Almost every aspect of student...

Thanks for all those Fawksie A good number of the points you've raised have already been completed in the recent overhaul, and although a lot of the information you've requested is already on the site, it's not very easy to find. We're still working on the website, section by section, and the Events...

While it's true that you can't believe EVERYTHING that you read on the internet, the content of the Union's site is actually pretty accurate. Ok, so there may be a few discrepancies here and there, but we're working through it to make sure that everything is accurate and up to date. With over 450 pa...

Re:

Sorry, there is no longer a photo machine in the Union; it's been replaced by some lovely comfy sofas instead. Much better, because you can fit more people on them, they're free, and they don't have flashing lights blinding you.

Re:

After a spot of website-searching and a brief phone call, it's been confirmed that Old Union Coffee Bar refers to the cafe, and Old Union Diner refers to the exam hall above (2nd entrance on the left down Butts Wynd, from North St). (Haven't been able to determine when the University started calling...

Thanks for pointing out a potential area of confusion. I've corrected the page on the Students' Association's website to read "Old Union Coffee Bar". I was unaware that the Old Union "Diner" referred to anything more than the cafe on the ground floor (or one step below street level if we're being re...

Re:

Perhaps the exams are in the OLD UNION (which is the bit above the OLD UNION COFFEE BAR). The OUCB is open for serving coffee, tea, hot chocolate and food 10am to 5pm and 7pm to 10pm. The "special exam period opening times" are new for the exam period, so if you get fed up of revision, you can pop i...

The registration process which completely prevents me from opening an account still gives me the blues.

What's the problem Duggeh? Could you please email details of it to the webmaster at sadesign@st-and , and we'll see what we can do to fix it.
