Re: The KK - Is this the end for our intrepid duo (and some)??!

Ok, I haven't had time to read through this whole thread so sorry if this has been dealt with already...but what exactly is the KK membership policy? Obviously, men only, but what are the other criteria? I've heard rumours (like that they actually take parent's income in to account) but they are pro...

Estate Agents- getting the deposit back...

Has anybody else got less of their deposit back than they expected? Rollo&Davidson charged us £200 for cleaning, including deep cleaning the carpet. If it was in a bad way that'd be fair enough but I think our flat was actually cleaner when we left than when we arrived. Also, isn't the owner respons...

Re:

Yeah, I remember sometimes really enjoying the bop in my 1st year and now (in 4th year) it's just not as good. Main problem for me is the amount of mindless dance music. I know there is sometimes more fun cheesy pop/rock towards the end but I have absolutely no motivation to get there any earlier th...

Hail storms and some thunder and lightning here in the south of France today...dramatic at least, if slightly unexpected after days of lovely sunshine.

Re:

Amazing how you can twist the truth with statisitics. But I'm a strong believer that you can lead a long healthy AND happy life, tis just about making good choices and sometimes being lucky. Food that is healthy is often tasty, like fruit/fish, and there is certainly such a thing as fun exercise. Th...

I mainly used mine when it got really cold in my room in winter, lol. Like other people are suggesting...depends what activities you want to do. I suppose I didn't really make the most of it in terms of wearing it but I like having it and wearing it occasionally for traditions sake. And you get in f...

'Mainly full of girls'- u make it sound like an insult! Anyway, I lived in JBH for the last 2 years and however it's changed I'm still really happy I ended up there. Being catered, we all have meals together and front hall is the main social gathering place. There are lots of parties and pub crawls ...

People doing assistantships next year...

Has everybody found out where they are going?

I don't know about other countries, but I know 3 people going to France who have found out.
I got my first choice of the Academie de Grenoble so excited! Anybody else going there?

Stats test seemed to go ok...hope the AUT action is over soon so we can get marks back. I'm not desperate to know but it's frustrating having very little idea how you're doing. I'm finding it easy enough to revise for perception and language but the physiology stuff is sooo dull- I like the diff col...

Stupid neds!

I presume other people noticed the unusually large no. of ned cars around today? I had a bad experience with them today...looking back was almost laughable but didn't seem so at the time. I was just walking along the street with a friend, minding my own business, with a load of ned cars going by and...

Re:

I did enjoy the bop but certainly wouldn't want it to be like that all the time as dance music gets dull after a while. Hiphop/RnB type stuff was fun for the start of the night. I think cheese is better a bit later when your legs are tired and you want to have a laugh with friends, are too drunk to ...

Yeah we saw his helicopter arrive on the Madras Rugby Pitches on Friday when we were playing football and there were a lot of the media about. Would have been more excited if it hadn't just been some rich american businessman but ah well, helicopter was impressive.

Castle Ceilidh is on the Sunday 7th of May from 7pm till dusk followed by a torchlit procession. Tickets are £6 and you can either buy them on the door or outside the union from 11-4 next week if you want to make sure you get in. Will be great! :-)

I'd recommend Tinted Moisturiser by No 7. Gives a fairly natural look while keeping your skin in good condition and evening your complexion. It's £8 but if u spend £10 or more at Boots you can get a £5 No 7 voucher. (Was the case a little while back, not sure if it still is) I'm in no way an expert ...

Hope you are alright Amorphous. Must have been bad if it was a lot worse than that test. I learned the slides reasonably well but unfortunately didn't do the extra reading. Usually the reading is helpful for better understanding but tests are usually based on stuff in the actual lectures. Also, I fo...

I got 14.5 on SA1001 but had to work reasonably hard for it, went to most of the lectures though only really did tutorial reading. And I am mainly a scientist so it's not really my thing. So yeah, I guess if you are good at blagging essays and have at least a little background knowledge then it is a...

Re:

It IS possible for men and women to be just friends but I think it can be difficult in some cases. If one does fancy the other, they are not likely to say it outright and so it is difficult for the other to be blunt about the fact that they don't like them in that way. From my experience it can be e...
