I did beginners' Arabic, and I have to say that I loved it and am carrying it on next year, even though it was originally a gap filler! The work is quite hefty but really it's only an assessment 3 times a semester, and the department is brilliant. I completely and utterly recommend it!

Anything by John Grisham, especially "The Painted House". He is a brilliant author - he makes law fairly easy to understand!
