Re: Do Dateable men exist?

Hmm, the Canadians I know don't have chips on their shoulders. Is that a chip in the English or Scottish sense BTW? Do they have fish on their other shoulder then? (That's how peculiar I am.)

Re: The Way to Weimar

*ahem* The way to Weimar was the First World War, which ended in Germany with the declaration of the German Republic (twice) and after that the establishment of the Weimar Republic. Also may I point out that the Weimar Republic actually survived the major economic crisis of 1923 and the crisis of th...

Re:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the Olympics in ancient Greece "invented" to stop the peoples from fighting each other for at least some time? How much more political can it get? That aside, carrying the flame around the whole world doesn't have *anything* to do with spreading love and peace. I...

Even if it washes your clothes with cold water it should be fine -- all the washing machines in Japan use just cold water.

Quoting LonelyPilgrim from 09:25, 13th Jun 2007 Learning on our own it could take hours of painstaking work to understand something, whereas the same concept, explained by a professor in different words and perhaps with a diagram or two, could take minutes. IMHO it's the painstaking work that reall...

Re:

The bindery at the union is cheaper than the official one -- I can't remember exactly how much I paid, but it was less than £2 for ~50 pages. If you have to hand in your work to the library you'll have to use the official one though, because the library doesn't accept comb bindings (at least not the...

Re:

This may be too late, but when something like this happens, you should immediately disconnect the power, take out the battery and dry it. Works best in the oven -- seriously. Put it into the oven at low heat for 1 hour or so. You should set it to a really low temperature though, if you're unsure whe...

Re:

Fastest would probably be to go to Leuchars (bus £1.90 IIRC), to Haymarket (something £10, less if you have a railcard) and take the bus just outside Haymarket station to the airport (£3ish). The bus has a separate lane, so you should be fine even during rush hour.

Apparently the secondary uni nameserver (138.251.40.10) was serving the corrupted entry. The primary nameserver was working fine, but Resnet uses the secondary one as primary.
