Re:

Very true - although I got the impression from the email that students will still not be able to use car parks other than those at some of the halls, but at least you wouldn't see staff popping from the Bute to Lammond drive at lunch time in their cars!

Re:

What pisses me off is that some staff who live in St Andrews drive to work and get permits to park in the staff car parks but students who cannot afford to pay St Andrews accommodation prices are not allowed to park in said car parks! Seems a little unfair!! I think only staff/students who live out ...

Re:

Wasn't there a study done recently showing that by removing all road signs roads became safer as it forced drivers/pedestrians to pay attention to what they were doing - eyes on the road not on the signs!

Perhaps more road signs are the last thing we need! A classic case of less is more?!?!

The Postgraduate Society does have a website but sadly it is rather out of date. At the moment the Postgraduate Society is not active. I was president for 18 months but my PhD had to take priority and I did not run again in the recent elections. Unfortunately no one else did either!! The Union will ...

Quoting kat29 from 12:57, 8th May 2007 Nicola, If you're in the uni network (eg. resnet or one of the uni buildings) your IP address should let you send mail via the SMTP server. But, if you're at home on a broadband connection the only way you can use mailhost.st-and.ac.uk is if you're using the V...

Re:

I have back problems due to deep curvature of the lower spine. I use the osteopath on South Street, St Andrews's Osteopaths. Hannah Markham is really nice and has made a world of difference to my back. I do the exercises she has given me, and that means I go for months without an appointment, but ev...

You will find horses and their riders have just as much right to use the road as car drivers do! Only this weekend I was out on my horse and what only can be described as a "boy racer" went screaming past. The young horse my mum was riding got a terrible fright and there was nearly a bad accident. L...

I have never lived in either place but I know those who have. Albany - Huge plus of the beach being right on doorstep and I believe it is quite a quiet residence. Loads of parking if bringing a car to St Andrews Stanley/Angus - Right in the centre of town - right by Tescos. Not much parking. I think...

Re:

Garage in strathkinness are really good! I have had good experiences with them. They don't actually do MOTs but do MOT pre checks. Usually I take my car to MotaTest in Cupar for MOT. The great thing about them is that they only do tyres and MOTs therefore they won't "make up" problems to fail your c...

Elections

Make the PG voice heard!

I have posted a thread on the elections board asking Sabbatical candidates to comment on why PGs should vote for them. Hopefully they will make use of the opportunity! Have a look to hear their views.

Good luck to all candidates.

GradSkills!

The PhD students worst nightmare!

I totally agree there are some serious problems with the system. I was thinking of asking the SRC representatives to organise a GradSkills forum.

Would you be interested in taking part?
