Re: Do I need a first?

Any company that doesn't prioritise the applicants that have a First do not require highly intelligent and motivated staff. Intelligence is not required for about 80-90% of the jobs in the real world hence they would prefer to recruit 'less intelligent' people. This may suit you if you fall into th...

Re: Do I need a first?

I'm doing psychology but don't want to do anything related to it once I graduate. In the past I have generally been under the impression that you only need one if you want a really high flying job in the city (which is not something I'd want) but recently I've been trying to think of other instances...

Do I need a first?

Does having a first make that much difference ? At the moment I've decided I'm going to aim for a 2:1 because I want to get a decent degree but also want to have fun but there's always been a niggling thought in the back of my mind that I should try for a first. (I'm a third year if that helps with ...

Re:

IT Services recommended Glasgow too.
The mac is over 3 years old so the warranty has run out. How expensive are the repairs in Glasgow?
Thanks for all the advice so far.

Broken mac

I've managed to bend one of the thin metal bits inside the ethernet port on my mac after tripping on the cable. Is there anywhere in St Andrews I can get it fixed relatively cheaply or will I have to venture into Dundee/send it home to get it fixed?
Thank you

Webmail and Gmail

Does anyone know if it is possible to use gmail's mail fetch feature with webmail?
I don't really understand the technical stuff and have already tried using 'mailb@st-andrews.ac.uk'but it doesn't seem to work.

Is there any other way of forwarding my emails to gmail?
Thanks

Pierjumping

Does anyone know anything about pierjumping?

I've found the tidal times on the bbc website but high tide isn't until 8 on wednesday - is it safe to jump before then?

Is the whole experience any good ?
