Re: Are all men commitment phobes?

Maybe you've put them off by partaking in so much "fun" :P Seriously, maybe they've painted you as 'not girlfriend' material. Maybe stop acting so desperate and immature - looking for a boyfriend-and-anyone-will-do-so-long-as-they-want-to-be-a-boyfriend. Shouldn't you like a person and hop...

Re: Labour's Ginger Racism

Since every red top flagging up 'Scotland/Scot/Scottish' in their title has displayed this story, I too have been struggling to see exactly how it is racist. Is insulting one person racist now? Wow, the boundaries really are shifting. Besides, Harman, did unfortunately have a point. Thanks to the ac...

Re: Can you turn a major literary work into a Limerick?

I don't think I have ever read anything that dragged on so interminably as Wuthering Heights (doesn't mean others cannot love and adore it, but it isn't to my taste I'll count it as a public service. If someone could summarise the entire LOTR for me, that would be great. Tom Bombadil makes my readi...

Re: Can you turn a major literary work into a Limerick?

"Scrooge was filthy rich but mean, Until a ghostly visitation he had seen. And at dawn's first light, He leapt to put it right, Yearning to alter Tim's piteous funeral scene." No offence but some of you haven't grasped the limerick's metre at all. It's very simple. "There once was a Y...

Re: Girl seeks guy or girl for fun

"and anyone I'm with, I want to be with, not just because they happen to be there"

So posting on a pretty impersonal ad board for anyone who'll apply...? The old-fashioned 'meeting people out' not worked for you...?

Degree Calculator

Now that I'm starting to get grades in, I've been checking the degree calculator like mad to try to guess what I'll get. I think the one I have is from when the pass mark was 5, is there a new calculator available to reflect the new pass mark or will the one I'm using still work?

Thank you :)

Re: When is the best time to visit St. Andrews? and etc.

When is the best time to visit the school? And for how long? I think even St Andrews had some snow recently though. SOME snow?! I've never seen it like that in St Andrews. And in fairness, in the 4 and a bit years I've been here, I seem to remember there being some level of snow every year. In my f...

Re: Guy in Albany?

If you're actually interested, please talk to him. You've nothing to lose and - let's face it - people put restraining orders on people for a lot less than you've said you've done...

Re: University challenge

Being half-Scottish and half-English and having lived in this country for all but 3 months of my life, I am more than entitled to my view. Especially as I was picked upon in school for not being fully Scottish (c.f racism in Harry Potter if the idea is too hard for you to grasp). Oh the glares in hi...

Re: University challenge

literary figure. Hahahaha. Sorry. Just always amuses me to hear Burns being heralded as any kind of literary figure; I make it a rule not to take seriously anybody who writes in dialect. And grow up, the Scottish University?? How many people here truly are Scottish? And do you really think Jeremy P...

Bank Charges

I always use Bank of Scotland online and, due to recent financial circumstances, check it obsessively around 3 times a day to see nothing unexpected is going on/I actually have money to spend. Usually the site is quite good i.e. if I spend on my debit card, my available balance drops by that much ev...
