Re: Songs that have you near/in tears

'Puff the Magic Dragon', PP&M.
'Baby Mine', from Dumbo. That one is pretty unbearable, actually.

Quoting TheUnixKid from 21:35, 14th May 2008 Not that I'm cynical or anything but please don't put all your personal information (like your home postcode) on the internet! You never know who is reading this stuff. You're right, that was silly. I was feeling a bit hurried/desperate when I wrote the ...

Quoting Han from 22:47, 13th May 2008 How many hours is the journey? When do you want it transported? I'm not from there or travelling there, but I like driving, quite fancy a road trip and wouldn't mind earning a few quid...I have a Ford Focus so it fits quite a bit of stuff... The journey is abou...

Live in North Yorkshire? (Or have a car and are driving through that way?)

I have some stuff which I'll need to transport home at the end of semester. I obviously can't take it all on the train and would like to avoid asking my dad to waste a day in the car. Is there anyone who's driving that way and would be able/willing to take my books/misc. junk with them? Obviously, I...

Re:

I went to Spokes today and the whole thing isn't really worth repairing, given all the other crap that's gone wrong with it in the last week. Thank you all very much for your comments and concerns.

If anyone would like to sell me a cheap bike, please PM me.

Bike question

If I remove the following bit from my bike, will the whole thing fall apart? What difference might it make? Will my chain fall off or anything? Will I be able to change the gear at all? http://i32.tinypic.com/30lyupw.jpg The control cable is broken, and I'm not planning on repairing it as the bike i...

Re:

I have vague designs on a career in literary translation. And I want to mother something (a child, a puppy, a hyacinth bulb &c.). I'm not really sure, though.

Lost key

I doubt this will yield anything, but I want a shot at getting my tenner back from the DRA/FP reception. On Friday afternoon, I reckon I dropped my key somewhere between Tesco and Fife Park (via the road route). It was a single key attached to a Tesco clubcard keyring. I would love to get it back an...

Re:

Last year, EN1004 was in the Buchanan, 11am, on Monday/Tuesday/Thursday. EN2004 is on the same days in the Buchanan at 4pm (although the class isn't as huge). The whole of second-year Spanish also has a lecture together at 11am on Tuesdays (School V). The year-group isn't ridiculously large but they...

I would be interested! I did a year of German last year and am fairly abysmal but would love to improve. What's more, I'm going away on a teaching assistantship next year and would like to practise teaching. I am a second-year girl studying English and Spanish. My email is eng2 and I can be found on...

Re:

Panoxyl (a benzoyl peroxide cream - you can get it over the counter in Boots) is reasonably cheap and works very well for me. I wouldn't recommend it if you have sensitive skin, though, or you might just end up a dry, peely mess. It also bleaches fabrics, so you might want to make sure you're using ...
