The next WiredSoc meeting is in the union main bar at 7pm tomorrow (Tuesday). It costs £2 to signup for just the second semester and we should be able to setup your account either there and then or shortly afterwards.

It depends on what you have access to. There is no direct way to SSH from ResNet to outside the university since a year or two ago. ITS love closing ports. You can SSH via somewhere else though. If you are a CS student you can use pretty much any of the servers; you can use wired if you're a member ...

Wired is now back up properly. Jaunty got it rebooted. Most of the mail seems to have just been delayed.

I am hoping that I will be cached somewhere but tbh I need to have another look and see; as if it cannot write to the maildirs (which are on the same machine - mail arrives at smoked) then I doubt it is going to be able to write to any hard disk. Slightly more complicated than that (remounting was the first thing I tried). Rebooting wired also doesn't help. Smoked's kernel has locked - using 100% of one of the CPU's. The logs also show a lot of I/O errors for a specific hard disk (known issue - requires a reboot). I need to reboot all of the...

They don't seem to check permits in the Albany car parks. Seemingly due to the council building (Old folks home?) which is next to the upper car park. All of the staff and visitors park in Albany without a permit. And the lower car park has the coastguard and most people visiting the beach park ther...
