Camp America...steer clear! I spent the larger part of last year looking forward to spending the summer in America working in a summer comp, something I have always wanted to do...instead I ended up working in my local Spar and here is why... Being keen to secure my place, I applied online, with my ...

How to reduce the cost of petrol!

Just got this email forward, thought it seemed like a good idea. if you don't own a car you could pass the idea onto your car owning mates: Hi Guys I got sent this - sounds logical to me - haven't done the sums But probably right? See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it. Petrol is hit...

Quoting Rufus from 12:28, 25th Aug 2005 Only to show off at home, I would imagine. [hr] 'Do you remember how long the days were when you were a child?' Pah! Re:

I don't do Biology so I couldn't give you much advice as to what modules you have to complete in first year. However, I can tell you that if your degree is in IR in first year, and the modules clash with the Biology ones, then it is possible to take these modules in your second year. If you do decid...

Well I know that Quarto are apparently extremely well stocked, and promptly kicking anyone out who even thinks about selling them a book, so I would say your best bet is to put notices up in the relavant departments in Freshers week, Alternatively, I have found that selling second hand books on Amaz...

Re:

I am going into 3rd year and was thinking of buying one, but I don't really know when I would wear it. Although for some apparently sad reason, I have always liked the thought of having one! I was thinking of applying to be an ambassador next year so maybe it would do for that. Who knows, but you ce...

I am also for the 'snape not really evil' theories and i'll be gutted if it turns out that he is! I agree with all of the points supporting this, so I'm not going to repeat them, but i'd just like to add, doesn't it seen quite unlikely that Dumbledore would plead for his life? In Book one, he makes ...

I know what one of the horcruxes is, and I'm just curious to know if anyone else has figured it out. I'll give you a clue, it's something that is in Dumbledore's office.

Re:

People in st a's seem to have a wide range of impressions of the local employment market! In my experience jobs are relatively easy to come by and a few hours a week does NOT ( as much as people try and kid themselves) affect studies if your time is managed properly. I don't think that I could be he...

I have never lived there but from what I have heard you have absolutely nothing to worry about. its the people who make good times, not buildings. Apparently its a really friendly, sociable hall. Hideous as it may appear from the outside, its not too bad inside and I have known some pretty cool Melv...

don't worry about it too much. anything you do on the system isn't permanent, you can change any of it as soon as you see your advisor, who will know more about module codes anyway.

Re:

Ditto, you don't need to worry about ur modules etc til freshers week. Even if you don't fill out the online pre advising form til then, its fine. However if you don't hear anything about accomodation by the end of the month I would give them a call!

If you are all paying your rent as one lump sum, and not individually then you are not entitled to single tenancy rights as far as I'm aware. If you all had individual contracts i.e. Uni accomodation style then you have a right to a lock, but otherwise not, or so I have been told. However, a little ...
