Re: Pub quizes

The Union Music Quiz (formerly the Aikman's Pop Quiz) is every Thursday in the Union main bar and has a great atmosphere each week. A normal styled pub quiz should be starting on a Sunday or a Monday evening in the main bar in a couple of weeks time. Look out for more details. As for other pub quize...

Re: Who is the best current stand-up?

I think I would vote for Rhod Gilbert if he had been on the list. Also, what's happened to Peter Kay?

Re: Mornington Crescent, Round 2

I see a Reverse-Western Swoop coming on here, after the great Billy 'Oddsocks' Western who is rumoured to have once travelled across 5 different lines in one journey to the east. Therefore, disembarking on a parallel tangent, Kew Gardens.

Re: Grad ball ticket exchange

Final reminder/clarification that anybody who has thus far been unable to exchange their ticket for a wristband, will be able to do so at the gates on the way into the ball tomorrow night. I hope everyone who has been graduating this week has had a fantastic time and that those tomorrow enjoy themse...

Re: Smartphones

I have the new style Blackberry Curve - I found battery life improved significantly as soon as I turned wi-fi off and stuck to the gprs system. A battery life of 2 days (or around 50 hours) may not be acceptable to some people, but as long as I charge it overnight every-other-day I get on fine with ...

Re: Grad ball ticket exchange

Mhuzzell, this is something that can be done in theory, but think of the extra queueing time for people who have to swop over from ticket to band in relation to people who simply have to flash a wristband on the way through. For smaller events, this is fine - but multiply it by the nearly 2000 peopl...

I've got on to Stacy about this... hopefully action will happen soon. If Oli's reading this too, perhaps it could be stuck on the website asap?

Re: Grad ball ticket exchange

I think it was in an e-mail a few days ago? Wristband exchange will take place in the main bar of the union on wednesday and thursday - can't remember the times though I'm afraid. Hopefully someone else will be able to help out there. Oh, and the plan is for the website content/format to be improved...

Re: Shit... i forgot to rent a grad gown!

You could try borrowing a gown from a friend who is graduating in the same faculty (Arts/Science/Divinity/Medicine/etc) but not on the same day as you - some people choose to hire for a week, so that gives you the possibility of it happening!

Good luck!

Re: stuff to do

I've recently taken up squash and found it an excellent way to get some exercise, have some fun and while away the time. Even better there is an abundance of courts in town - ranging from free to very fairly priced!

Re: clothing

You could try Raith's on Market Street, but I'm not sure if they have them or not...

I was in Dundee today and there were indeed plenty of waistcoats there. Particularly in Slaters.
