GradBall 2011 Ticket Confusion

I bought a ticket for Grad Ball online through the union website. Now, I'm hugely skint and can't afford the whole "buying a dress, food, some drinks and paying for somewhere to stay" part of it. Does anyone know if there is any way to get a refund for the ticket - seeing as I bought it on...

2 Bed Flat in Dundee available for Summer and Year 11/12

Hi! We are currently letting a 2 bedroom flat in Dundee, 10 minutes walk from Seagate bus station. Alas, with me graduating this year and my part time job not offering me any overtime over summer, we need to find someone who can take over the lease from the end of May/start of June, and then the fla...

Re: Get involved with HER CAMPUS!

I tried accessing hiscampus.com, but my browser... it say 404. And I'm very glad that it did. It'd be depressing to think that one group of people would want to alienate themselves from another group of people who are different solely due to an attribute of their birth. Else we'd have things like w...

Re: University Accomodation

If you are a new student, you won't usually hear about university accommodation until June/July, after the final date for applications has passed. If you are a returning student, you would have got an email on the 10th March telling you whether or not you were accepted. If you didn't get this email,...

Re: Durham leaves the NUS

Only if you're getting very confused with your left and right wing policies. I do, frequently. Which one were the Nazi Party? At schools, the Nazi party tend to get sold as the opposite to the Communists, so extreme Right wing. Their name suggests that they marketed themselves as being both left an...

Re: Guide to St Andrews

I suppose it depends on how "mature" they are as well, most of the mature students I know are either mid-20s or early-30s, and you're right about some of them not being obviously over 25.

Re: Guide to St Andrews

As a mature student, be prepared for your return to what is quite possibly the most anti mature student university in the UK. Some will be fine with you. Most will treat your existence as something incomprehensible... as if people of a certain age are contagious when approached. I've never known an...

Re: Pet hates?

*Trust fund princes/ses who take up the entire cereal/biscuit/dried food aisle in Tesco who ignore my "excuse me"s. *People who barge round the corner coming up from the library to Market St at the Keys. Again, these tend to be the financially advantaged. *People who are so stubborn they c...

Re: Newspapers

There were posters in the library last year saying that you got quite a bit of money of the Times in BESS. Not sure how much, but it was pretty cheap.

Re: saintmail

You need to set it up with mail using Gmail as the server host, so imap.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com for your outgoing. When you opted in for SaintMail there was an option to create a new password to use imap, that's the password you put in with the username.

Re: Slow Sinner?

I'm finding it to be really slow as well. To start with I was worried that somehow Snow Leopard had wrecked my internet (how, I'm not sure, but I still thought it).

What's the problem with it? :S

Re: What modules should I do this year?

Take a history subject! I did first year Modern History as a filler subject and really enjoyed it (although my degree is in Med History so I might be biased). The first year topics are from the Reformation up to the American and French Revolutions, and you might find that the social history aspect o...

Re: Accomodation Panic

I'd try contacting the university accommodation offices. There might be some space left in halls due to people deciding to drop out or not take up their place. I know that one of my flatmates isn't coming back this year now, so whether their room will go to a JY/SA or someone like yourself is a myst...

Re: Honours entry (again)

I got the grades required, but there was a little confusion regarding the number of credits I had from certain subjects. I emailed the department and just got an email back from the Honours advisor saying that I have the grades and have made my module choices, so there's nothing left to do until Mat...
